I actually could be wrong. I could've sworn I read that there was a 5qt capacity for that oil cooler, but I can't find anything on the capacity now.

I just bought a set of split Race Ramps (the rear portions pull out for clearance). They are 67" long and provide a 10" lift!

Even with 4" of play room I still got a little nervous. I just did a test roll so far, I'' doing my first oil change myself on my SS this weekend (I let them do the first 2 since they were free). Royal Purple all the way!

I could've sworn I saw someone post the torque values for the Drain Plug and filter. What is the filter torque? And where do I find those values to verify?

Post 49. 18 lb/ft for the drain plug.

Not sure you'll be able to get a proper torque reading putting on a filter. How would you attach the torque wrench? I just lube the gasket with a little oil and then spin it on relatively tight by hand. Been doing that for 20 years and never had an issue.

I agree, oil gasket and tighten by hand. Never had a problem doing that. However if you want to use a torque wrench the k&n filters have an extension on the bottom that'll take a socket.

The nut and grips and ridges etc are for removing the filter.

Unless you are disabled in some way, there should be no reason to tighten with anything other than your hand.

I haven't done my own oil changes in a while, but I always used the filter socket with a wrench when I did. That's what the Nissan service manuals said to do (I believe it was around 25 ft-lbs) when I had a couple Altimas. When the filter is being torqued it doesn't care what the main purpose of the socket is for. I worry more about over torquing since the tube you're screwing onto is hollow.

Unless you're using a torque wrench, the best way to ensure you aren't going to overtorque the oil filter is by installing it by hand.

I was a master level technician for many years before I started doing mechanical design work. Never heard of anyone using a torque wrench to tighten an oil filter. Just spin the filter on hand tight after lubricating the gasket. No need to over think it.

BTW: 25 ft-lb's is way too much torque for the oil filter!
