Talking 2016 2SS A8 NPP NAV YELLOW

I was able to get 16000 on my runflats, they were not good on wet roads, it rains a lot where I am at. Went to DW06 all season continentals.

Got 8500-9000 out of mine. East TN winding roads and a few scoots down the Tail of the Dragon sealed their fate.

I have 22k miles on the car, but only half those are on the run-flats. I switch to a set of all-seasons from Nov-April. I think I will get one more summer out of the run-flats.
As others have said, it's the tread depth and wet performance that become worrisome.

I just replaced mine with 18,000 on them. Outer edges of fronts were wearing a bit more than the insides, rears were wearing evenly, I probably could have gotten another 3 or 4 thousand miles on them. Never really drive this in the rain. I actually put back on the same Goodyear runflats.

I went with Yokohama Advon all season tires as replacements. Be cautious of mileage guarantees that the are pretty much worthless. Most require routine rotation which can’t be done with a staggered tire setup. At best you might find a non-directional tire that can be swapped from left to right on the same end of the car. I’m happy with the Yokohama’s. Good price and reasonable street performance, especially in the rain.

Might want to check Costco’s prices. When I put on new tires on my Vette they had a $15 per wheel installation package that included a road hazard warranty. I got a nail in my GS’ rear sidewall a week after getting new tires installed. The warranty covered a new $505 tire at no additional cost.

GPG

How many miles do you have on the Yokohamas? I have the same ones, and am happy in every area except I would like a little more traction under hard acceleration and cornering (though I'm thinking that will get a bit better as I break them in).

To the op - after 9k miles and 0 traction in the rain I couldn't wait to get the OEM tires off the car.

Rears only lasted to 14k, fronts lasted to about 24k. Replaced rears with Nitto NT05s, that lasted only about 8k. Replaced with Nitto 555 and are still going strong at 10k. Replaced the fronts with Michelin PS4S and will throw those on the rear once the Nittos run out. Car has about 32k on it now

I just replaced mine with some PS4s at 14,500. There still is at least 5/32 of tread but they didn't handle well in the rain. I plan on listing the eagles for sale. Does anyone have any idea of what they are worth?

As my tread gets shallower I notice the same thing, particularly in spring and fall. I think the rain cools the rubber a bit which amplifies the problem. I'm not a fan of the summer compound.

I brought in my own pucks for the lift. No problems with the rims, though some shops shy away from run flats and 20” rims.

The stock GoodYear Eagles are downright dangerous in the rain or even just damp roads. During light acceleration uphill on the german autobahn, it wasn't even raining, it was just slightly damp, the car started going sideways at 70 mph. I have 10k miles on mine. Still plenty of thread left.

I never felt insecure with mine. Drove in rain and cold temps. Keep TC always on and it will straighten itself out.

this is simply not true for everyone.

I drove with mine in a freak snow storm that we got and the car behaved way better than I expected, a week later in the rain I couldn't drive much over 55 because the car kept wanting to change lanes. I'm talking about I-have-to-dig-the-seat-out-my-ass when I got home butt-puckering.

I never drive with t/c off.
