Watch the dealer markups.............

So I was going to jump the gun today and purchase from a dealer here in NC. They had a bunch of extra crap I didn't want which I was asking to be removed. They stated that they did a lot of research and know what the people are looking for and that's why they do what they do. Not letting the customer tell them what they want they are going to tell you what you need. So they wouldn't budge on any of those overpriced extras.

I took a quick screenshot of their added crap from their out the door sheet. Be mindful of the BS when you get to that point.

Markups are bad in any form, but those amounts are absolutely ridiculous!

Seems the only way to avoid markups is get lucky or special order.
I’ve been trying to scoop a ZLE in transit and the lowest I’ve seen was $5k over.
These cars aren’t even worth sticker let alone over msrp.
I’ll keep looking but as of now I’m just waiting for my order to get picked up.

That's just it they haven't even touched the car as it won't be there until the 8th. I told them I would meet the car when it gets there they don't even have to touch it. Just a bunch of BS........

If they are going to markup the price, I wish they’d just be honest and call it a dealer markup.

Telling you that you “want to need” nitrogen filled tires for $400 is ridiculous.
All weather mats can be had for about $200.
3M door protection at $600 might not be terrible… but I suspect they are talking about 1/2” wide strip of PPF on the edge, not the whole door, or even the bottom half.

That's what got me. Just because you did a survey of previous buyers you know what everyone needs on their car? That's rather arrogant of them.

The car comes with a spoiler on it already so why are they trying to throw another one on there I have no clue. We won't even get into the other prices.

Which dealer? I think I chatted with them on the phone.

My first question anytime I got on the line was, "First, are there ANY adjustments to the price of the vehicle increasing the sale price over MSRP?" If the answer was yes, I wished them well and went on my way.

One dealership in Seattle was quite cocky with their $10000 upcharge on a ZL1, and the sales manager sounded arrogant as hell. This was well over a month ago, and the price has dropped considerably since then. Imagine that.

That gives me an idea. When I pick mine up, if they have that list for me, I'll just whip out the list of "seller add ons" that I have installed. "Well, my Trade-In has all these items, down to the Nitrogen -- feel free to cross-reference with Costco as they filled them with Nitrogen this morning. Unfortunately, my trade-in also has some upgraded badging which is another $1500 that we'll need to add to my trade-in price".

There is a $4,000 markup on the ZL1 at the dealer out here in rural Kentucky... that's why I didn't order from them. Still hasn't sold.

These guys are on some crack. Are people really paying $10k over for these cars? I just don’t see it. I could see if someone really wanted one paying $2-3k over (I wouldn’t) but $10k on this car is crazy.

This one is as base as you can get also. Doesn’t even have red seat belts lol.

This guy? https://www.bigmchevy.com/new-Radcli...ource=cars.com

For some reason, I can't see the dealer add-ons.

There are no add ons, just a sticker. I went to look at the rapid blue SS they had. It's just a markup.
