Cam lift

Wondering how many have a cam in the 630 lift range and how they hold up. Thinking of the ss1 gpi but man I don't want to drop a valve.
this is a daily that Im looking to do 100000 miles.

Iv heard that as long as I do springs every 25000 or so should be good Im looking for real world results Thanks Guys and gals.

I’m at .646 lift, Livernois stage two heads, Procharger-8lbs of boost and I love mine. Drivability is impressive. As far as how they hold up: I don’t have many miles yet so I can’t speak to that, although no issues thus far. I can tell you it’s fun! Good luck!

Depending on the setup I would have the valve seats and guides redone or just go with a aftermarket casting. LT1 heads are prone to seat failure. Some get away with it others don't. Most that have don't have many miles on their setup. There is a post right now in the bolt-on section of a 416 build that dropped a valve and trashed the motor. Plenty of info out there on this topic...TSP put up a disclaimer a year or so ago on their site about it. https://www.texas-speed.com/p-4407-p...g-service.aspx

Not saying it can't be done but I wouldn't run a .650 lift cam and 150+ lb dual springs. If you decide to go for it then I would have cam motion spec out a very mild lobe lower lift cam(.600) with some lower seat pressure(130) springs. Call them!

.645"/.635" El-7 TSP Cam- just got it in last week of Sept. U have address the heads for sure. I did the smith brothers trunion kit, 660 double springs, LS7 lifters, shaved heads, BTR push rods, and port in and out plus hand ported by Katech. I also did brass stems and a full valve job.

Katech said my set up is good for 50,000 miles. Hopefully no problems in the future.

What about the hot cam setup if never going to update to lt4 fuel. Comes with heads and cam ect. How would it work with a procharger, and 10 speed auto. I would not want a bunch of shake, surge at like a red light

Im double down on meth. I have done away with any push connectors including the fuse holder. Also if the controller loses power for any reason my afr gauge goes off

I did the hot cam in my 2016 SS, my advice is don't do the hot cam. Its a dog and does not add much power. It sounds good and that's all it does.

I believe Pray ripped the Hot Cam apart on this board a number of years back. He shredded it, chapter and verse if memory serves.
