To me the standard ss/LT1 ride is between tour and sport on a magride ss and the 1le is really close to sport on the ss. The short front 1le tire really gives a sharper hit to the bump. if you go to non run flat on the LT1/SS, like a ps4s, it’s no contest..the ride really is super soft over bumps

I was thinking if I was to order a new manual car, whether to go 2SS no magride. I am really impressed with the non magride feel. If I go 2ss with magride then I am so close to a 2ss 1le in cost, it would make sense to go 1le, but I want the white interior and don’t care for the big brakes or alcantara. Don’t know which way to go

I'd go with the 1LE if I were you.

MRC is very good, you can cover or replace the alcantara steering wheel, the matte hood is just a removable vinyl wrap, the seats should be fine (you won't touch them), and you probably do want the wheels and tires, which would later bump a 2SS build over the cost of a 1LE for less content.

(The only reason I didn't get the 1LE myself in 2018 is that I wanted an automatic and that wasn't offered back then.)

I actually had a 1ss that a dealer had an allotment for built with the MRC but I really wanted a 2ss and found one 1LE package. I jumped on the 2ss and the 1ss is still in production (not sure of the status last check it was at 3000). I have ridden in a 1ss with MRC and I can say its a little smoother than a 1LE in tour mode. Since I don't plan on daily driving my car the 1LE package is ok with me but if it were the other way around I would have waited for the 1ss.

I think that’s the way I’ll go. Let’s see if one becomes available. My wife will be happy as long as there’s blind spot and rear cross traffic alert now that shes driving the kids in it

I know this because I have owned both. My 1SS 1LE rides plusher in Touring Mode than my LT1 did.

For sure, I had a 2SS (non-Mag ride) rental a couple years ago and it was kinda rough on some bumpy NC roads. Borrowed my dad's ZL1 (NOT 1LE) for a few days and the ride was actually a bit softer in Touring mode compared to the SS. Pretty amazing what GM has done with the magnetic shocks on these cars.

Do a search and you will find alot of responses on this but I have had BOTH and the ZL1 1LE makes a MISERABLE daily driver. I had mine for THREE months and replaced it with what is essentially a SS2 1LE.

The ZL1 1LE MULTIMATIC suspension is VERY unforgiving and works great from a handling standpoint as long as NO BUMPS are encountered. Even on a track course, an irregular surface of any kind can unsettle a ZL1 1LE especially at higher speeds

Tire wear with the 3R's is UNACCEPTABLE and the tires are DEADLY in the rain. In the 3K miles or so I had mine, I replaced the tires TWICE at a cost of about 2000 dollars PER time and this was with daily driving and NO track time.

With the proper mods you can make the SS 1LE FASTER around a road course than a ZL1 1LE . The 1LE is MORE nimble as well because there is less weight over the nose.
What mods would you recommend to make it go around a road course?
