I traded my 2016 SS for a 2019 1LE, very happy with the car and it’s not even broken in yet. I decided this past weekend to break out the drag pack wheels that I had for the 2016 SS. I have front skinnies 17 inch 4.5 pizza cutters.

I thought I would see if they would fit where the 20 inch 285/30 went. I was actually surprised that they did fit. I turned the wheel and no scratches from the 6 piston brakes on the rim what so ever. I was very happy to say the least.

I am drag strip driver that’s going to do both track and strip.

Check out the 285 vrs the 4.5 width pic for comparison. The one rear pic is 18 inch with a 315.

The biggest thing I like so far with the 1LE is going through the gears, I had a A8 and those drivers don’t know what they are missing.

Blackbeast, do you mind sharing some info on your tire and wheel set up? I am looking for skinny’s for the front. What size Race Stars do you have, and what size tire if you don’t mind me asking??? Are front and rear tire combos the same diameter???

Can’t speak for Blackbeast, but most drag packs are 18x5 for the front with a 28x6 tire. Out back it’s 17x10 wheel with 305/45/17 ET Street R in my case. I went with Forgestar D5 in the front and D5 Beadlocks out back. Hope that helps.

i run

17x9.5 rear with 275/40/17 mt et street r
18x5 front with 26x6x18 mt sportsman sr

i put around 2000 miles on that setup alone last year. a lot of cruising and general horseplay. hell when i last went to the track it required a 90 mile drive one way. i made the same drive a couple months earlier to spectate a no prep event haha.

i know the 18x5 isn't a skinny per say, but don't go looking at wheel/tire max weights if you want to remain comfortable driving the car any amount on the street. i even had a bent front wheel almost all of last year. scary to think about but i put a lot of miles on it like that and tbh it never drove like it had an issue.

edit: the 26x6x18 mt sportsman sr tire says max 900 lb @ 50 psi inflation (max). the car with me in it weighs right at 3900 lb with virtually no fuel. food for thought. and a photo of the wheels on the car in front of my vietnam fence.

Yes, Blackbeast did say 17 x 4.5 Race Star. Most say an 18 inch wheel is the smallest you can get over the six piston 1LE brakes. Wonder if some how he used spacers or a different offset.

Zero drama with the 18x5 front runners I mentioned. Really nothing to be gained by chancing the 17” wheel IMO.
