2.0L LTG vs 2.5L LCV
Has anyone here swapped their LTG long block for the LCV? I have an ATS 2.0L that cracked a piston, so I'm looking to do something different.
Other than having higher compression, is there anything else that makes the LCV worse for a boosted application? Anyone know of major differences other than bore & stroke? Everything I see says it is the same block design, so I'm thinking worse case is I swap over my current head assembly and oil pan. Any thoughts? |

Are the sensors and electronics compatible?

Sounds like the only main difference is that the bosses for turbo oil & coolant are not machined in the 2.5L block.
Cam phasers are the same. I don't know what other electronics concern you but I think it would be simple to swap over from the 2.0L if they were not matching. I think it would be doable, but tearing a brand new engine down to to the bare block isn't something I'm looking to do right now. |
