ATF Fluid
I am new here so please pardon me if this has been addressed. I have used the search feature but have not had any luck. I am due to change the transmission fluid and have seen that the Mobil One blue label is an updated version of the transmission fluid for the A8 in my 17-SS. I am wanting to know if anyone has had luck with the Valvoline Max Life in the A8? Everything that I have read about is very positive and I use it in my 3 series BMW. Any advice from more experienced owners would help me in making my decision.

You want Mobil 1 black label part number 19417577. It’s the preferred oil now in A8 transmissions.

Technically, it's called "blue label", but the above part number is correct. The only reason I'm mentioning this is that there was an older version of this fluid that had a black label, and it will not be able to prevent the known shudder issue from occurring or returning. See a picture of the correct bottle below.
OP, while the Valvoline fluid may be very high quality, I for one would not experiment, given it took GM three attempts at the fluid and several torque converter revisions to finally mitigate the shudder problem.

Oh wow! Thank you for elaborating on that. I will definitely get exactly what you mentioned. The last thing I want to is to create an issue. On the carfax it says that the torque converter was replaced around 20k. Definitely do not want to have any issues by using the wrong fluid.

You're welcome, brother. The A8 gets a lot of flak on account of GM's fluid and torque converter gaffe, but it's actually a great transmission.
