Big problem please help

After having my engine replaced with a LME 416 Stroker, the car was perfectly fine. We base tuned it for a light break in before final tuning it. Anyways, after the final dyno tune, I went to do the first pull and upon shifting, the car would not grab gear at all. This only happens at high rpm, it grabs gear and drives just fine normally but wot it will go into nuetral but will not go into next gear. I am thinking it is a clutch issue, however I am scared that it is a transmission issue now too. I am not blaming anybody, however the car went into the shop with a functioning clutch and trans and now this is happening after they removed and installed everything. Any clues as to what is causing it?

You have a brand new 18 and you replaced the motor?

Yea, it's called modding. Guy wanted some cubic inches.

That's allot more modding than most. Not many people pull a brand new motor and replace it with something else especially when you start with the very capable LT1. Why not just mod the LT1?

The guy is here to get answers to his question regarding his shifting issue, not to be flamed because he pulled his engine from his car...

Exactly. You can't do something like this and not expect to have issues. I just don't get it.

What exactly does this mean?

Can you not shift in and/or out of gear?

Or, is it in gear and the car does not accelerate (RPMs go up and speed does not).

Sounds like the later. I really don’t think it’s the trans. Sounds like clutch.

Some of you guys are not helpful at all. His first motor was modified with FBO and cam which means no factory warranty. He had a failure (piston to valve contact). He decided to go big with a new built stroker motor from LME instead of repairing his LT1. So now the history lesson is over.

OP - I don't have much advice for you but to state the obvious that I see little choice but to go back to the shop that did the engine swap and have them trouble shoot the issue. Good luck for it to be an easy fix - I know you could use some good luck with the journey you've had so far.

Previous motor was fbo, cam, e85 and had piston to valve contact causing total engine failure. Obviously car was not warrantied so I decided to go big

Car will accelerate fine in whatever gear it is in, but if I want to shift into the next gear and put the clutch down, it will go to nuetral but when I try to get next gear it will just grind. I have to wait for the rpm to drop to get next gear

Well that makes a little more sense now.

Who's been doing the work on your cars? Is that the problem?

The shop screwed up the clutch install.

This may be useless or helpful, but in my last Mustang I had a similar issue, and it was common to the car. The issue was with the power and trying to rip off a quick shift everything torques over a bit which affects the linkage, made it difficult to get 3rd gear, often grinding.
Maybe something to look at?
And ignore the people that don’t get hot rodding
