Eh, the trucks are kind of a big deal so I would expect those to debut at an auto show like Detroit.

Plus, how does removing 2 doors from a Tahoe automatically make it exciting? Or more manly? Or better for fishing?

If you're hunting ... are you sure you don't want a pickup? I'm trying to picture why anyone would want to put a dead deer in the back of their SUV, regardless of the number of doors it has.
The current Tahoe if you ruggedized it, you could take offroad.. (the rest no chance) but the Tahoe is heavy and turns like a pig.

The two door weighs less and because it is a shorter wheel base it maneuvers quite well. Drop the rear bench seat and you have a ton of cargo area that in enclosed, unlike a truck.

If GM made it, it would be a great seller and then if GM decided to make a more worthy offroad version like the ZR2. Well.. one can dream.

We traded it in for a 2017 Hyundai Tucson AWD... basically just swapped them. The Tucson is pretty sweet!
I had a 13 Encore and it had bad turbo lag as you state, I traded it for a leftover 16 Sport touring with the 153hp DI motor and it has virtually no lag. We really like it.

If anything, GM needs a smaller, cheaper RWD sports car, not a full size coupe. It's pretty evident Camaro's starting to move into the traditional Corvette role as Corvette goes midengine. Might be time to start thinking about something to slot in below Camaro.

Like that 130r concept from a few years ago. Wasn't that supposed to be a BRZ competitor?

It would just end up a bigger, heavier and slower Camaro. There aren't enough engines to have the Chevelle be worth the cost, even though I would love to park a modern Chevelle next to my 70. Besides, they would probably make it look like a Honda with 4 doors.

I still think GM should make the Tru 140S concept a mid engine V6. That would be a cool entry level sports car.

If Corvette is expanding the brand, rather than outright ditching the traditional front-mid engine/rear drive layout all together I could see them offering a new entry level Corvette model, similar to what the Cayman is to the 911 at Porsche.

I'm imagining something almost as nimble as a Miata but powered by a V6 like the 370Z. Should be possible to get it to weigh about 3000 lbs, and price it somewhere in the 30's. It would be a great entry point for Corvette while being pretty distinct from the Camaro. Question is, I don't know how much market there would be for it or how many new buyers it would pull in vs stealing from Camaro & Corvette.

Why would they produce a different and all new Corvette model with the car moving to a mid-engined layout? If anything keep the C7 while offering the mid-engined car as the halo model. Once the halo model gets a refresh (can't believe I'm typing this) dump the C7 and stick with the mid-engined car, or keep them both.

If GM wants to attack the 'affordable RWD' market they should do something lightweight and turbocharged. Give it a manual, make it handle well and keep it somewhat economical and they could have a winner. To me, your suggestion reminds me of a Camaro V6 1LE.
