Nav is an option on some and standard on others

Yep. Install the android auto app on your phone. Plug it Into the USB port in your console, and then click the android auto logo on your touch screen. From there you have a menu for Google maps. Works great and it's what I use daily!

I use the optional navigation more than I do the android auto navigation... The cars GPS shows up on the gauge cluster and heads up display as well, It notifies you when you come up to traffic or whenever there's something happening up ahead even if you're not using the GPS system, It knows your direction of travel and gives you a heads up... it's saved me a few times already.

click just a few options and Android Auto will do the same, with the exception of heads up display and gauge cluster..personally I'd give those items up to save $500

When Android Auto is running it shows traffic information ahead, But it has to be on.

Android Auto works really good on the fly for finding a restaurant or something, But I got used to not really ever looking down at the infotainment screen as everything I need is right in front of me.

Yea, if you had the optional $495 factory navigation system, it would have the navigation icon on the screen. I have it & use it frequently. Personally I'm not yet a fan of the Apple Car Play system yet.

+1

I thought the HUD was silly until the first time I used it with navigation. Now I love it!
