Salesman trying to sale a 2014 1LE Z/28 to a lady - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I was today at my local chevy dealer picking up some parts for my engine swap, when I focused on a pretty lady and a salesman

she was asking for the new camaro she saw in a magazine, the guy just laugh and explained her the car is a new package for the V8 camaro and they just got one from a canceled order...

the guy show to her a 2014 1LE 2SS (really beautiful car btw) but the issue is that he is lying to her, the guy say the Z/28 is just a package like the 1LE,

she was really exited and told him that she was looking to buy this car for his husband as a 25th anniversary

at that moment I left the dealer, really disappointed and a bit mad...

I mean how it can be someone can confuse a Z/28 with a 1LE and even worst wt..F! is wrong with that salesman? I know some salesman don't know much about the cars they are selling but this guy did it on purpose... (I think)

Well, a 1LE isn't a bad 25th anniversary gift. And, if he doesn't race, not sure the Z would be appreciated.

The lady is equally at fault for walking into a dealership with no knowledge of options, trim levels, driver preferences, etc.

Sorry, but if I were a salesperson, my easiest target would be the blissfully ignorant and uninformed customer. The Camaro seen in the magazine was not likely on the lot, so he employed the old bait and switch.

Not to mention the guy might really prefer some creature comforts, unless he's racing. Either way, she's up for wife of the year award.

I bought my first new car in Orlando back in '82 and have yet to come across as slimy a group of people as the car salesmen down there.

I guess some things will never change.

Droppin that much coin on a anniversary gift and doesnt know what shes buying.
most salesman just try to get you to buy what they have and unless the buyer knows what he or she really wants the salesman will come up with almost anything to change your mind.

To be fair to her, her husband probably knew just as much about engagement rings when he picked her's out.

So? She's buying it for her husband. You can get air conditioning and what not on a Z28, you know. If she thinks it's what her husband wants there is no harm done. Let people buy what they want to buy. I'm sure they were loaded anyway.
