This has been an interesting thread to read.

I find it amazing that a thread meant to share information, turned into people getting their feelings hurt and they tried to turn it political.

As Camaro owners, we come to a forum like this to share information, why get butt hurt about that?

Since my comment here is getting a few responses, I'll just add I have no problem with Camaro owners sharing useful information related to the car and useful information we all love. And that includes this subject. That is why we all are here as a community, to share information and experiences. Nor have I expressed any political leanings, as that is also prohibited by forum rules.

My comment as my personal observation that Ito me it read like a few were in that realm of entering into politics to me. Apparently many thought it was not, and in this current climate I can see that as well. It's fine, I have no concerns with that.

Carry on and no flames or cancel culture intended.

No offense taken, Brian Your observation is not unreasonable, it's just very difficult to keep a discussion like this completely neutral.
As long as it remains civil, however, I for one would much rather interact with people who express strong opinions either way than have a thread closed or removed. Especially given the large and often shifting gray area around what exactly constitutes "politics".

On a somewhat related note the last time I got a ticket I was on my way to a shooting match, doing 91 in the 70. Georgia State trooper pulled me over and went through the routine questions.

When he got to the "Do you have any guns in the car?" I said yes.

He said where is 'IT'.

Given the match I was going to required 4 of them, plus the 2 I normally carry, my response was

"It? Well, there are four in the trunk, one under my seat, and one in the console."

That got me a funny look, so I explained.

A few minutes later he handed me my ticket, for 84 in the 70. No points and most importantly, no super speeder $700+ fine.

Wow! Sounds like you ran into one of those rare cops who are actually cool... I have heard they exist, I just have not had the pleasure of bumping into one.

That is like a Unicorn sighting.

A few months ago, I got stopped for 90 in a 55. Cop comes to the passenger side window and I immediately tell him “I am a valid CPL holder and I have my carry arm on my right hip. How would you like to proceed.” My neighbor who is a cop told me that letting the officer know ASAP is the best policy and avoids “mistakes”. The cop thanked my for being up front and wrote me for 64 and then told me what I could do to eliminate the point.

After I got home I realized I actually wasn’t carrying.
