Many people do, it's a valid system.

Are you saying that it's more than just a mileage counter (reminder)? I thought all these systems do is count your miles and remind you to change your oil assuming you're using the same standard oil from the factory. I'm using Mobile 1 Extended Performance and it hasn't changed.

Yes, it's more than just a counter....search here or the Internet.
It's monitors the way you drive, so a person who does interstates a lot has longer intervals vs a car that does urban driving. It is usually dissed by enthusiasts, but it works fine for the masses. http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/oil-...g-systems.html |

Just got my first oil change done Friday. It was right around 40% and 4,500 miles. Oil looked good, so I might wait a tad longer on the next one.

Just drive your car, it’s not gonna blowup if it hits zero. It is a reminder system not a cut off system .

I’ve tested both GM and Honda as described in post 8. They were both spot on. 6500-8000.

And keep in mind, it will go to 0% in a year, no matter if you drive the car or not.

Oil Change
I drive a 2017 1le Camaro and my oil life according to the odometer is 2% but have only drove it twice since October. October it was at 35%, I am getting it changed this weekend. I checked the oil but as indicated in the threads below its hard to see it on the stick...I have had it for a year now with 4800 miles on it. Should I be concerned about the 2% or is this based on time and not necessary on mileage?
thank you for comments |
