I believe the Mustang A10 has different gearing as well, 3.15 vs the 2.55 in the Camaro's A10

Another good thing about the A10, it keeps pulling hard all the way through 6th as where the A8 face plants when it hits 5th gear.

Whats your data for this claim or is this something you made up? Sounds plausible though.

Unless the hellcat 8 speed is that much better than the 8 speed in the scatpack challenger, then I would say that the dodge (ZF) 8 speed is very similar to a tuned 8L90 as far and shift speeds and overall transmission operation with an edge to the 8L90 for shift feel

The 8HP70 (a8 in scatpack) is rated at 516 tq and the 8HP90 (Hellcat) is rated at 752 tq for one and the gearing is different between the two. Upshift/downshift paddle response is clearly quicker with the ZF compared to the camaro and mustang autos, which can't be tuned to improve. I don't know about actual shift speeds, should be close to a tuned 8L90.

The ZF 8 speed is very quick to shift. my scatpack was ultra responsive with the paddle shifters. the mustang isnt as fast to respond but I rarely use the paddle shifters in it anyway. with 3.55 gears in sport mode that 10 speed shifts fast and is very responsive to throttle input

Doesn't the Corvette ZR1 use the 8 speed?

Yes it unfortunately uses the A8. The trans problems are what kept me from buying a Z06 when they said the A10 wouldn’t fit.

Yes, “unfortunately” the Z06 uses the A8. My brother has a ‘16 3LZ that bangs off 10 second slips with just a set of drag radials and a CAI. Poor him.
