Possible Warranty on Alloy Wheels

Anyone else had the issue like my alloys appear to have? All 4 wheels on my 2017 50th Anniversary Model started to look like this? Spoke to my local dealer who is 300 miles from me and says he wants me to drive down for them to look at??

Looks like flying rocks/pebbles from everyday use. If they were peeling there is a better chance of replacement. Who knows, maybe the local dealer will see it different.

Alloys are smooth on surface, no damage or stone chips. Water getting underneath

Ahhh, well if it’s lifting the clear, they should make it right. Good luck to you.

Is the same thing happening on the spokes or just the face?

I’m pretty sure that will be declared a road hazard. No warranty.

Those are stone strikes.

If you like driving your car, they will happen. If your car is not exposed to road salt, you won't get much clear coat bubbling from corrosion.

Otherwise, be prepared to have the wheels refinished.

If you want to have a good relationship with your dealer's service department, don't go ballistic or whiny with them on stuff like this.

Depends on the dealership. I had a cracked wheel. One dealership said road hazard no warranty so I went to a different dealer and they got me a new wheel free.

These look like plain road hazard (rock hits) to me as well, and unless you have specific additional tire and wheel coverage, I doubt it would be addressed at the dealership under warranty.

I'd just go for a wheel repair, this kind of rash is common and can be fixed. If you have a great relationship with the dealer's service department and trust them, use them, but there are wheel repair shops that specialize in this.

Looks like it could be filiform corrosion to me (search it). I used to have an Airstream trailer and those things are notorious for filiform corrosion being clear coated aluminum.

Pics don't look like corrosion, look like surface damage from road debris. I had a Mazda with corroded wheels and they did get warranty replaced but that's not what I see in your pics.

I had those too, and was able to buff them out with scratch polish and a buffing ball, just be careful not to burn thru the clear coat. I have also sanded the clear coat and used this to recover the clear coat.

The first picture sure looks like filiform to me, but the others not so much.
