Zl1 1le with the DRLs

I could have sworn I saw this last year some time where someone converted their ZL1 front end to the 1LE and customized it to retain the DRLs with the 1le front aero.

I've tried searching the site and Google but can't find that thread anywhere. I could just be imagining it based on wishful thinking though.

Anyone know what the thread is, please post the link here. Until then I'll just assume it hasn't been done.

I was thinking about doing the same thing for a while, but also couldn't find any info about it. I am sure with a bit of fab work to the factory vents it would be workable tho.

However after waiting 6+ months for my Anderson wing and then having to get refunded I took some of that money and just bought the ZL1 APR Carbon Fiber front canards for the non 1LE front end. They work with the ZL1 DRL's/Ducts, the fit and finish is great but they are a bit pricey.

I took a few pics in my garage just now. I haven't had a chance to take some good pics outside in the sunlight. Also its hard to tell since the canard itself is so thin and the weave is super straight but they do have 90 degree bend at the ends as well.

thanks for the pics.

how does it attach to the bezel. Does it just hook in to the rear of the bezel like the ACS ones do for the SS?

Looks like a viable option. I just wish it would attach to the bumper with the hidden tab and clip like the GM ones do instead of exposed bolt heads.

That's exactly why i showed the fasteners and talked about 90 degree bend, when i ordered them none of the pics showed any of this.

The leading edge that sits inside of the vent has 3m vhb tape, then there are 3 m5 allen head bolts with nylock nuts. Two of the bolts go through the bumper and one through the vent. I agree hidden fasteners would have been nice, but to be honest they are hard to see unless u looking for them.

very true, could probably paint the screw heads black to blend in. Did you put any 3m tape between the bumper and the mounting face of the canard?

No, the fit is pretty exact and tight. I did think about putting some at first tho or even some thin felt weather stripping. However i think in the near future i am just going to put some clear silicone rtv underneath to keep water/dirt from making it's way in between.

Here's another option. This sight sells a complete bumper conversion. You can all so buy the canards separate, and add then to you ZL1.
