Fuel pump access panel??

Has anyone made one so you don't have to drop the tank? My car is gutted and being caged so cutting a hole to get to the fuel pump don't bother me.

yes. I did it. Go slow and use a cut off wheel. I used weatherstripping and surrounded a square panel with a latch on one side and a hitch on the other to keep it down. Works like a charm and was WAY easier than taking my rear cradle out.

Here is how I cut mine out.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...71&postcount=1

I used Metal ducting tape and a shaped fiberglass backing to seal it back. I only cut 3 sides. I forgot to take finished pics.

Worked great.

Seen it before, thought to myself that PQ is on the ball. I may take that route one day.

The way I sealed it is easy to remove but not exactly idea as far as removing and replacing easy like a bolt in panel would be. But still WAY better than dropping the tank.

Sweet! Thanks for sharing a really good idea. If I ever need to change my pump, this is exactly what I will do. Chevy should've made an access panel at the factory.
