Anybody put anything bigger than 2.5 in the dash. I was wondering if anyone had custom fabbed some 4 inch or 5.25s up there. Trying to get more speaker output bc my subs drown them out.

I'm in the process of doing a full JBL system in mine. Working on 3.5" speakers for the dash. Not sure that I will get anything bigger than that in.

I did 3.5” in the dash. Was a pita. Looking back I would have installed the aftermarket 2.5s I still have

I don't think you need bigger speakers - you need more sensitive speakers. And/or you need an amp for the dash and door speakers. I don't think the stock speakers are actually very sensitive, surprisingly; and they are running on miniscule power in our cars (which have no separate amp in the trunk). You might be able to drop a 3" speaker in the dash opening, but anything bigger and you'll probably have to make a surface-mount setup. I'm not even sure there's enough room between the dash and windshield to do that.

I agree completely with Matt. You would have to make permanent modifications to the dash structure to fit anything bigger than a 2.5".
However, there are lots of excellent 2 and 2.5 widebands out there; Morel, Focal, Audiofrog, CDT are just some that come to mind. Any of those with a 75W/ch amp would be amazing.
