OEM brakes or aftermarket?

Can anyone confirm the front rotor Part numbers #177 1247. I need to replace mine due track duty as they now have warped. I got about 25-28 20min sessions out of the front. Would an aftermarket be better vs price? 2019 ZL1 1le

Your brakes have not warped. I guarantee this.

You have managed sufficiently smear the OEM pad over the surface of the rotor. Creating wobbly brake feeling.

If you have in fact warped the ZLE rotors, something is wrong.

What he said. It's pad deposits. Driving around town with light brake application, so as to not create much heat, will scrape the rotors clean. You can accelerate that process with a more aggressive track pad. I kept a set of Hawk blues for that job. Super aggressive pad. Especially when cold. It will clean rotors in a few stops. But don't leave them on for prolonged periods. I forget about them once and a couple weeks later I notice the slots in my rotors were almost gone. Needless to say they were squeaky clean. The above was for my S4. Not my camaro.

I've had good luck removing pad deposits by just hosing the rotors a few times to get a thin layer of rust on them and then going for a drive.

Yeah, I looked at them over the weekend and notice some pad deposits. My oem pad are close to 25% so i went a head and swapped them out with a hawk Dtc 70. Went out for a drive and did some light stopping followed by some hard braking and all seems good. I still wouldnt mind having the extra set of rotors on hand.

Was just about to order new rotors on my 2019 ZL1 when I found this thread. 25K miles. Braking is a little wobbly from 70+mph, a little sketchy to brake hard. I did drive it from DC to Vegas and back in August plus once on the track - pushing it when safe - so the rotors could've gotten heated up. You guys think it's just pad deposits or change out the rotors too? Thanks a lot.

I suspect deposited, I have worn the 6 piston Brembo’s down to minimum thickness over 15 or so track days using both stock and after market pads and never warp the rotors. They have been smoking hot at times but still not warping.

Yes just ran into this same issue, thanks to the info on this thread, a few fast hard stops and the vibration is gone! And to think I almost bought brand new rotors!

OK perhaps I was little quick on that one, it looks like I need to do some more fast hard stops… that doesn’t work I’ll take the rotors off and use some sandpaper

These two things will help anyone concerning brakes and uneven pad transfer:
There's tons of info on brakes here. Once we understand what is going on, it's no longer a mystery.

In particular, this one:

When uneven pad transfer happens, here is the simple fix:
