Upgrade question

At what point would you guys upgrade the clutch, driveshaft, rear on an SS? I may be getting a SC soon but I was concerned with the rest of the components being able to hold up to the boost in power. Has anyone had any issues with their SS after an SC install?

I have had my supercharger on for about two years. Still have stock clutch, rear, and drive shaft. I did upgrade the axles. No issues thus far. I think the clutch will be the first to go. I am not replacing anything until it fails.

Are you going be taking the car to the track with sticky tires?, how you use your vehicle will be the biggest determining factor

I broke my rear after adding a supercharger and sticky tires.

Traction will break things as will wheel hop. If you aren't going to race it at a track, you'll be fine for a while. If all you ever do is drive spiritedly from a roll or race in Mexico, you'll be fine for quite a while. I think your clutch is in the most danger so start saving for one.

Wheel hop is a major contributor to broken axles/half shafts, so to help eliminate alot of the wheel hop i would recommend upgrading your trailing arms and toe rods if you havent done so already

My clutch let loose about 1 hour after tuning the car after adding LSA supercharger. I can drive normally still 1st 2nd 3rd are ok but 4th gear under hard power and it just let's loose and his the limiter. Tall gears slip first.

No I'm not upset, although I'll have to wait till I put in the new clutch to see what it's really got .

As a DD, with the occasional track fun, you should be just fine on the stock clutch, driveshaft, diff, and axles...as long as you stick to a stock-ish tire. I've been running the stock driveline for over 3 years at 600+RWHP, currently at 676 RWHP, without any issues. It has been to the track about a dozen times or so over the years, and it is my DD.
As stated previously, just have to be smart about how you drive it. I get on mine pretty regularly, slaying the tires in the first couple of gears, but I always do it from a roll.

A hard launch with stock power can break things. That being said if you just want to play on the street the stock stuff holds up pretty good.

Clutch will be first to be addressed. I'm making 800+ on a monster twin disc with stock DS, diff and axles. I do have rear subframe bushings, trailing arms and toe rods to eliminate wheel hop, all from BMR
