What supporting mods justify going with stage 3? Or rather, why go stage 2 vs stage 3?

Thanks Bo. Stage II sounds right then. DD + track time to come. Will add PTB to my list and add it with LTH and tune at the same time. I can't recall if you need a core, or the cost. I'll Pm ya.

what's new on the stage 3 over the 2?
from the pics, I can see the half shaft has less material.
is there more I can't see?
why is it needing a tune?
thanks, and still enjoying the stage 2. between it and the gears, I'm still working on settling down my right foot.

More aggressive port and contoured halfshaft mainly.

From Stage 2 to Stage 3 on stock tune

For anyone wondering, its definitely an upgrade over the stage 2. I've driven with a stage 2 for probably 20,000 miles. I drove the car home from work this morning, waited about 10 minutes then swapped TBs to the stage 3 and went for a test drive. My first impressions was the throttle response improved greatly, rev match downshifting was even easier and the car needed less throttle input to accelerate. It felt like I had a stock TB before and just added a ported one.

My car is running a stock tune and my only engine mods are a halltech CAI, Bo's ported TB, and SOLO high flow cats. For my application I would need tuning. Stage 3 made the car slightly surge at cruising and surged one occasion at idle that a throttle blip fixed. At WOT the car definitely reved much faster even though my butt dyno didn't feel a power increase. Usually when a car revs faster its making more power and going faster so my butt dyno may be broken.

If I were to go to my local track (hour+ away) I would definitely bolt this on to race. My last thing, I'm pretty bummed I had to put my stage 2 back on, I loved the added performance of the stage 3.

So far the design has done well. A few have needed tuning so Im still saying 50/50 shot on that even though most didnt need it. Its a race port, track or strip.
