Bye bye garage, what to do now?

We recently moved out of our apartment in which I had a nice garage spot to store the car overnight. Now it's going to be parked outdoors in a driveway. Will still be indoors during most of the daylight hours since it will be at my office, but will be outside overnight and on the weekends.

Any suggestions on what to do to prevent wear on the paint from the outdoors? Luckily not much rain here, but a bit worried about tree sap, dew overnight and
paint fading from the sun. Any tips on protecting a car stored outdoors?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Could invest in a good car cover but it may get old putting it on every night and taking it back off. But I would do it if I had to park outside every night. I'm crazy though!

Keep a good coat of wax/protectant on it! Any room for a portable garage? I also be more concerned about theft too.

You're in LA? Isn't the weather there about perfect every day? Lol.

Keep a good coat of wax on, avoid parking under trees or where birds perch.

I don't think I'd have the patience to put a cover on every night, also wouldn't that risk marring the paint in the wind overnight if the car isn't completely clean? Dirt scratching under the cover from the wind.

Have looked into awnings but haven't looked into portable garages. Don't know if we'd have room (or if it's allowed, our area has some pretty strict rules on outside structures that face the street) but appreciate the idea. Definitely need to keep some more wax on it.

Ya, weather isn't the problem, more of an issue with tree sap. Yep, gotta stay clear of the nearby tree. Will take some time to figure out the right spot.

Thanks! What about something like a layer of coating / ceramic? Worth it?

Yes, using a cover on a dirty car can damage it more than leaving it uncovered.

Just keep it clean and waxed as noted.

The same applies now, as it has the whole time you've been driving it. Nothing additional is necessary. That's the whole purpose of all the sealants, waxes, etc. that are on the market, to protect the paint.

Clean it, seal it, wax it, and possibly use a product such as Adams H2O Guard and Gloss for a little extra protection.

The Outdoor Life in L.A. is fine.
Just remember to seal twice a year and wax every month.
These two have been outdoors 24/7, one from 1999 and the other since 2014:

Like others have said, just keep it washed and waxed and you should be fine. Mine stays outside and haven't had any issue's. My black stripes even still look good and haven't faded yet.
I have been dealing with a stray cat last couple weeks. So watch out for those pests!

Mine is also out in the elements all of the time. Other toys in the garage.

Drive it through the snow, the rain, everything. Just keep it clean and a good coat of wax each season.

I would coat it. However I would be more worried about theft. These cars are childs play for car thieves.
