Still much, much simpler to clean than the stock ZL1 wheel design with its million spokes or the ZL1 1LE design with its tiny gaps. Also, the straight gap along the center of 1LE wheel spokes is just large enough for my fingers to fit, so cleaning these wheels actually feels very easy to me.

You're right, those do look worse to clean! The 1LE gap is a good size for the finger, I see how the ZL1 is tight, looks painful to get in there

Well in ZL1 owners' case, a definite win win!

I agree the 1LE wheels aren't near as hard to clean as the ZL1 wheels. They are a real pain to clean. I'm the same way I can at least get my finger between the spokes on the 1LE wheels to clean between them. Personally I really like how much more open the 1LE wheels are than the ZL1 wheels. They really allow you to see the brakes on the ZL1.

+1... I could not wait to get rid of the stock ZL1 wheels.

I had 1LE (albeit MRR) on my '17 50th and knew I would be putting them on my ZL1, but wanted the real ones this time.

I had HRE FF10's on my Audi A7 and cleaning was such a damn nightmare.

ZL1 wheels are miserable to clean. Swapped out to MRR 716's almost immediately.

Recently bent a right front so had to swap back the OEM's and uggggghhhh

Meh, I'm in the minority and don't care, but I love my OEM wheels.. I think they are a nice looking wheel and fit the car nicely. Sucks cleaning them and they take a while to clean, sure, but I wouldn't trade or swap them for anything.

It's alright Nytmare, we still like you.

Personally I've always liked 5 spoke style wheels. Maybe that's why I like the 1LE wheels so much.

Wheel styles are very subjective and everyone has their own favorites. I don't dislike the ZL1 wheels (except when it comes to cleaning them), I just like the 1LE wheels better.

You could have been me and bent a brand new 1LE rim within 25 miles of putting them on with fresh tires too.

Oof.

$200 to fix the rim, $275 for a new tires, and $125 to re-ceramic coat, mount, and balance.

Not to mention the fun of changing both fronts back to the OEMs in the work parking lot.

I totally agree with you and I don't mind being in the minority. I like the OEM ZL1 wheels and are keeping them. So what it takes a few minutes more to clean these wheels. Once I got the proper cleaning tools, it is not that much of an inconvenience.

Haha..I appreciate that ZPirate!!

I agree on the 5-spoke wheels. I do like me some 5 spokes as well(My Silverado TrailBoss has them as well as my wife's Traverse and I love them on those vehicles).

Also agree wheels are definitely a "to each their own" type thing. I DO love the looks of my Z wheels, but I'm definitely not going to sit here and say they are "fun" or "easy" to clean by any means!....they ARE a PITA to clean, no doubt. I mean, let's be real...i wouldn't have been too upset if they took out 1 or 2 of the spokes off the OEM wheel!!

Yes, I will say having the proper cleaning tools for those wheels DEFINITELY helps ease the "pain" of cleaning them!

Well, at least there's 2 of us that still roll with the OEM's!

I think they are pretty wheels too. Give them some love.

Since I replaced the brake pads with Power Stop Z26 and ceramic coated the wheels, they don't really need cleaning that often and they are so much easier to clean.

All love on those from me! . I haven't changed pads(still OEM), but I did have the wheels ceramic coated when I had the car done and agree the ceramic coating DOES help with the cleaning of them.

got the worst of the pollen off with a good detailing and blew some carbon out the pipes on some local country roads. on the right day, there's nothing like it. she just got fresh trans, rear end, and brake fluid so you've gotta test those out to make sure they work, right?
