Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush Experiences?

In preparation for the coming track season I was flushing the stock DOT 3 fluid and replacing it with Motul RBF600. I wanted to let everyone know that I got air out of each caliper. This was an easily driven 2017 1SS 1LE with no track time and only 5800 miles.

I had noticed very early on that while the brakes definitely stop the car the pedal had a bit more travel than I like. Hopefully, this cures it but since it keeps snowing around here I haven't been able to drive it since the fluid flush.

I'd recommend that everyone give their brakes a quick bleed since clearly, the factory left some air in mine.

Did anyone else see this when they bled their systems?

I think your experience mirrors most owners. Mine had a microbubble or two, nothing major, but post-bleed with Castrol SRF and the pedal feel was much more normal. It's probable the factory fluid is typical bulk brake fluid, there's no reason for GM to waste money on good fluid if the educated owner is going to flush with quality fluid anyway.

If there was air in the system, you should bleed the system with a GM USB type tool that also cycles the ABS pump. You could do a traditional bleed and then drive on a wet surface to activate the ABS and bleed again, but that is hit or miss and may require multiple bleeds after ABS cycling.

Hey guys FYI, I was reading through the service manual and it states the sequence for bleeding brakes is:
1. Right rear - inner then outer
2. Left front - inner then outer
3. Left rear - inner then outer
4. Right front - inner then outer

I know most people are using a different sequence
