FWIW this is the part number (19353135) for the Mobil 1 0w-40 with the dexos2 stamp. I purchased it today from the link posted below, we’ll see soon if this is actually the new dexos2 0w-40.

Finally went for one of the "free" Gm oil changes today to get the "mythical 0w-40 Dexos 2" for next weeks HPDE track day, came across a document that I thought I'd share, and also asked for one of the empty bottles to confirm the oil used... Is this not the "new formulation"?

Does anyone have an official notice letter, service bulliten or anything from GM corporate stating that the recommended oil for the Lt1 engine changed to Dexos 2 0w-40 with the dealer fill being mobile 1 ESP 0w-40 specifically? I feel like my local dealer will try to fight me with this as I've already called the service department twice to ask... once I was told they would call back (waited 2 hours no call) the second time I was put on hold till it defaulted to and answering machine.
