I put the 5psi wg spring in and planned on starting off easy at the track. It wasn’t too much power. Also I have made a number of street runs and tuned it up to 16psi.

Steven at 42autosports built this one. I got a great deal on a core from a forum member and am going to have it built similar to what I had before. That is after he inspects this one to see if he wants to make any changes. He has a great reputation and his built a8 is in what may be the quickest a8 camaro out there right now. I will modify my burn out procedure.

Just for future reference I plan on breaking my car. I will fix it now and will likely have another failure before winter hits. I really want to push it and expect things to break.

You hear people use the word "literally" all the time incorrectly. In this case, you can actually use it. So sorry for you, but big props for your attitude. Good luck.

A th400 would ruin much of what I love about the car. I might consider a 4l80e someday. What is a 4l80 good for these days? The a8 already holds a ton of power stock. After they release some upgraded clutches and parts to upgrade the next few weak links the a8 will probably get me by.

I am going to call this failure a fluke. I am guessing the mods Steven did to help it hold extra power through a normal run did not jive well with my burnout routine. In a matter of a few seconds it shifted 1,2,3,4,5,4,5 boom.

If the trans did shift through all those gears during the burnout that could definitely have something to do with the failure. Locking it in 2nd sounds like a good option.

Sorry to hear about the trans, hopefully you'll be back out there soon!

If that sequence is what happened during the burnout I'm going to vote for that being the problem. Change that and you'll be golden.
