Alignment issue
Took the car in for it's track alignment to the shop that has done my track cars before.
He could not get the left rear more than -.9. Is there a fix for this on the SS 1LE? |

The fix, and this seems to be fairly common, is finding a competent mechanic that can align a car.
Unless you have broken/bent hardware, the Performance Supplement "Track" alignment is easily obtainable on a 100% stock car.

Failure to follow the proper alignment procedure is likely the biggest problem.
Cars with wide tires have tight tolerances for a proper alignment. Many alignment guys simply aren't going to understand why the tolerances are so tight and you'll get something that's "good enough" in their mind. My car wasn't aligned properly from the factory. I had to hold the steering wheel as if I was making a turn in order to drive straight. The dealer where I bought the car failed to align the car properly after 4 attempts. The guy simply wasn't particular enough to get everything right at the same time. Here are a few tips: - The reflective targets need to be seated on all 4 wheels properly. Depending on the type of clamp, this may not be a trivial as it sounds. - The steering wheel needs to be perfectly straight while aligned. - The correct suspension geometry and specs need to be loaded. - The threaded holes in the front steering knuckles for camber adjustment need to be used, otherwise it's too difficult to get the necessary precision. There are some pictures here in post #9: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489495 - The steering angle sensor should be re-calibrated when finshed. - Pay attention to the fastener re-usability and torque specs: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=502324

Zero issues getting 2.6F and 1.6R.
At a (competent) GM dealer, no less. |

thats the thing you have to find a shop or a tech that is willing to do custom alignments and take the time to get it where you want!
They are out there it just takes some time and fiddling to get it right. most shop techs are flat rate so they just want to get the job done asap.
