2019 ZL1 hood insert, splitter and rear diffuser color code

After much research I still can't find a definite answer. Most members say Mosaic Black Metallic WA384A (GB8) others according to to their dealership mentioned Black Meet Kettle (WA384A) meanwhile my own dealership couldn't find anything conclusive and told me WA8555. The paint on my Zl1 does not seem to be metallic so which paint should I chose?

I would appreciate if some members here could shed some light on this elusive black paint.

mosaic black metallic on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. I just had one of my side skirts repainted due to a paint correction mishap prior to getting a ceramic coating.

look very close it should have some small goldish color fleck in it.Use a flashlight in dimly lit area or after the sun goes down. you wouldn't recognize it unless it is up against regular gloss black which is my case.

Easy to check, if you see metallic flakes in the black like on the photo below, it's WA 384A (metallic black), if not, it's WA 8555 (plain black).

The descriptive names for these colors are specific to models, you'll see things like "black meet kettle", "stellar black metallic", "mosaic black metallic" all denoting the same color. Heck, my Camaro's red color (WA 132X or G7E) is called "garnet red tintcoat", "caught red handed", "red obsession" and who knows what else.

If you have a regular ZL1, the rear diffuser, splitter and side rockers are the same. Black Metallic with gold flakes, the names Mosaic Black and Black Meet Kettle are the same color. They might have two different codes but they are one in the same. I believe the hood insert comes in only two variations, Exposed Carbon Fiber or Gloss Black Paint, which does not match the any of the aforementioned parts.

ZL1 and ZLE are different blacks, I’m pretty sure. ZLE doesn’t have any metallic flake.

The painted hood insert is mosaic black metallic and matches the splitter and side skirts.

It is mosaic black but there are a few different variations of that available you will have to compare it to what you have. Just had my spoiler and mirrors painted to match. Name: 20200530_122754.jpg

Well, les jeux sont faits! the spoiler is being painted in Mosaic Black AKA Black meet Kettle. I'll post a picture when I get the spoiler back. Thanks again for all the input!

WA384A Mosaic Black Metallic confirmed.

The code is what matters, not the name. Chevy changes the name depending on the car model, and sometimes uses pre-production names. For example, Red Hot is also called Pull Me Over Red.

I stand corrected on the hood insert! Thanks. Maybe it is the 1LE hood insert that is painted gloss black?
