I'm curious, did the info in this thread help? Did anyone try the different techniques on their home track and have some tips to add?

I haven't yet but i also knew I wasn't going to the track soon. I just wanted to ask the question early so i could get plenty of input and technique options before i got to the point of going to the track.

I would have done similar as described if it hadn't rained. I'm going to try to find my g8 burn out with drag radials and post it.

My old supercharged g8 on Mickey Thompson DR. 11.86@116 vs my buddies c5 vet. Red light by .001 and he ran 11.91.

On this pass mine didn't shift on time and I ran 11.91 and he ran 11.79 if I remember correctly. I had consistant 1.70's and best of 1.64 60 ft. With street tires I couldn't break into the 11's. Dr's work

Are you guys using the launch control with the brake slammed and letting the computer launch or peddling it yourself?

I haven't tried launch control yet, but will when I get my drag radials. I did run 12.04 and 12.05 both at almost 116. Flat foot right off idle. Sixty foot times were 1.79 and 1.81.

I was running on DR's and tried to preload to about 1k-1200 rpm and leave, both times netted me 1.80. I then left at idle and was cutting anywhere from my best of 1.73 to and average of 1.75. I did not notice any wheel spin on either technique.

I also ran a few passes with my throttle controller on SP5 and SP9. Their was definitely a difference in my opinion, when I left on the last amber with it set at 5 it didn't react and leave til it was full green ( I was actually nervous for a split second) but when it was on 9, instant throttle response with no lag....and obviously a better r/t.

Great feedback. I will try some combos tomorrow night with the throttle controller. Tomorrow's focus is 60 ft times and tree. SP9 is my starting point and launch is off idle.

One more thing I just remembered, my car was shifting into 5th just before the finish line on EVERY pass I made. I was going to hold it in 4th through the traps but I was already at 6-6200 and I wasn't sure where the car stops pulling ( I was also looking for that miracle '60 that would have got me there without having to forcibly hold it there).

I don't know how tall your Hoosiers are to my MT's but I am interested to know if your car does the same. Good luck tomorrow

I haven't tried 20psi yet but everything said here is right. This is what I was doing on 26psi and a light burnout. However our track folks are kinda douchy and water the whole box so we can't go around. Our track also runs a 3100" DA

Launch control will cut the engine power down too much and for too long on DRs.
