Changed Rear Diff fluid help
I was trying to fill it with exactly how much oil came out, but I made a huge mistake and knocked over my oil catch pan XDDD now its all over the floor and I don't know how much came out. It looked like a quart or so.... but I did fill it with a quart and stuck my finger in the fill hole and couldn't feel too much oil around, so I added about 1/4-1/8th of a quart of oil and it started seeping out the fill hole. Is this filled enough or too much? The car was slightly leveled with just a slight incline to the backside.
Question is, do I fill until it comes out of the fill hole? |

Diff you fill until it weeps out of the fill port.
The tranny needs 8oz from the top.

Can you support your claim with this? i'm reading on other vehicles where it needs to be blah blach so many millimeters under the fill cap. Would anyone be able to confirm with supporting evidence that our cars we just fill until it weeps out? I did that with my 5th gen Camaro, but it says all over that forums to do that. I can't find anything on the 6th gens yet if we fill until it just weeps out the fill hole.

The manual trans fluid level when full should be 1/8 inch below the fill hole. The rear diff is filled up to the fill hole.
