At least on my 2020 SS 1LE, I don't pay for OnStar and it still pushes updates to me. I agree that it seems to just be infotainment system updates, though. I wish it would automagically push the autocross eLSD calibration to me!

I'll check on the number later, but I have never actively installed any update and they don't show up later when I try to find them. I'm guessing that they install themselves if I don't do anything, but I don't know. The last time I check update history after the update notice went away, the history didn't show any updates.

Update: I'm showing the same Build Number as in your post. I'm also showing no updates in history and no update waiting to be installed except for OnStar, which I'm not even signed up for.

When they upgraded the Infotainment system to a newer model, I think for 2019, it included the capacity for the over the air updates. The early Gen 6 models don't have the capability.

Mine updated today (hadn't driven the car in a couple weeks), said ~10 minutes and took about 8 minutes or so to do the update. Haven't started it since the update so don't know what (if anything) has changed...

2019 and up Camaros with systems using IOS/IOT configuration are compatible for over-the-air software updates to operations.

2016-18 models cannot do over-the-air and can only be updated via SD card or laptop to OBD port.

At this point just give me a carburetor and a timing light.

Interesting, though, how we do have a software page with an update check button that only works when the car is connected to a WiFi network (it errors out when there is no internet connectivity). This is completely separate from the apps. I mean, why bother adding it in the first place if there is no OTA update capability...

Sorry I meant over-the-air via satellite. Yes you have wi-fi connectivity as well I believe.
