What an idiot. But the Tesla didn't help the situation by moving fast to the left lane knowing the idiot behind would want to pass him.

At first I assumed the Camaro was already on the road that the Tesla aggressively cut across 3 lines on and assumed he got mad at that. But the side camera shots show the Camaro was tailing him for about a mile and even at times trying to nudge into the shoulder. Kind of weird.

I had something similar happen to me the other day. I was in the right lane at an off ramp. Guy who was just previously flying down the highway was pissed that he was basically funneled into one lane so he kept riding my bumper and swerving side to side. When I got onto the next section of road, I just stayed put and didn't even try to merge left. Sure enough, he gunned it over some solid lane markers and cut off myself and 3 cars. If I did what this Tesla did, it'd be a wreck.

Drivers are only getting worse. Sense of entitlement is only getting worse. Some people will want to be in front of you at all costs, even in bumper to bumper traffic where it does't matter. It's like their view it as a small victory in what's otherwise probably a pretty sad life for them. It's never worth taking it personally. Oftentimes, all you need to do is watch them as they make their way up the road, and you'll find they're more than likely just being a dick to just about everyone.

I told my son when I was teaching him to drive: See everyone behind the wheel of all the other cars? Don't assume they are all rational human beings, to you they are all assholes about to do something unexpected or stupid. Drive with that in mind and you won't be dissapointed.

How many times have I had something like that happen to me over the years I can’t count on one hand. I have been driving since 1975(had my first car) and it has really gotten worse. With all these lawyer commercials on TV it doesn’t surprise me that people will act stupid and cause an accident just to sue someone for money. Thankfully I never rear ended anyone when they did this to me and the Tesla driver should be thankful that he had it all on video to clear him. People do stupid things threr and the Camaro driver was one of the idiots that I see everyday driving on the roads and city streets. Even if the Tesla driver pissed him off the driver in the Camaro should have gone around him and kept going and not slam on brakes so that he would hit him.

Pretty sure it's not a "fast lane" but just the 3rd lane on a boulevard which would be used to make a left turn at the intersection not too far ahead.

Before seeing the rear camera, this almost looked like an insurance scam.

I really need to get a dashcam.

I have had my car less than a month, and a dash cam less than 2 weeks, and have already caught 3 near misses now. Im saving all the good clips and eventually will make a montage on my Youtube channel with some of the best idiots lol.

I got the Aukey Dash Cam. worth it! Super easy install as well.

In order to survive in the motorcycle world we consider everyone on the road to be blind or crazy. It helps to assume unexpected movements will occur. If you ride long enough you learn to sometimes predict what people will do even before they know they're going to do it.
It also helps to avoid road rage at all times.

Yup, I started to do this many years ago after almost being hit on my motorcycle by an inattentive driver. I treat everyone as a threat and look for indicators of what they might do. I usually can predict what they are going to do but I never count on it. I try to leave room in every situation for an exit, not always possible but most of the time it is.
