Should I get the 2019 camaro soon or wait for 2020? Need help deciding
Hey everyone, been deciding for a while if I should get the 2019 camaro SS soon or wait for the 2020 Camaro? Any help would be appreciated, still can’t decide.
Also it took me weeks to decide if I want a V6 or V8 and I’ll prob most likely go with the SS, was deciding for weeks and finally made my mind for that so it’s just between the 2019 or wait for 2020 Thanks all. |

If you were up in the air between V6 or V8, wait for the 2020 and get the LT1 V8 instead of the SS.

While he has a point and the LT1 model definitely does seem like a homerun for GM, I want you to think of it in the long term.
I bought a 3.6L 1LT and thought I would be content with it. I didn't go there buying it saying 'oh it'll be enough for now'... I went there thinking I would never want an SS and I was fully in love with the 1LT 3.6 V6...but...I fell much harder for the SS later. The LT1 model Camaro is a bit pruned down...look at it like this... 'Will this car keep me content for the next 5 years? or will I want to trade up for the model I really wanted to begin with later?' Don't settle for anything because you will end up paying MORE in the long run if you do. I personally say just save up for an SS and buy an SS when you have the downpayment you need. If you get the 3.6 V6 or the LT1 Camaro, there 'may' be that thought 'Eeehhh -- What if I had gotten an SS with all the packages I wanted?' ...I gauruntee you though, if you get an SS, you won't ever look back and say 'Eeeehhh, what if I got a 3.6 model or LT1 model?' |

I need a daily driver, so I needed something not too expensive and better on gas so I went with the V6. I got a very nicely loaded 3LT from 2019. EXCELLENT car! It has so many amazing features, and its super livable, a lot more than I would have expected.
Do I love v8s? of course! But do I need one, no. Its really your choice, but I could easily have bought a used, or not as loaded SS, but personally didnt seem like the right choice.

I'd wait for sure, plus it'll give you time to save a few more bucks.

If you are one of the few dozen that like the 19 SS, go get it, it won't be around for long. Don't get a 2020 if the only reason is 90% of people prefer it, it will be your car, get what you think looks better.

To be honest, if you can go see a good deal on a 19' you want and your still feeling you should wait, that probably means your not really in love with it and you should wait. But if you go and and really fall in love with a car, you'll know.

I have, and have had other V8 Chevelles, no need for a commuter V8 car with useless power on the street. Now if you’re going to race it, it’s a different story. Good luck |

- if getting the camaro is subject to approval of your significant other, and that window is open, sometimes you need to make a move before it closes!
- The LT1 v8 might not be as track capable as the ss , so if you plan on tracking that could be a consideration - if the 2019 bumper cover is an issue, wait to see them side by side in person with the 2020s Last edited by Hops; 05-15-2019 at 05:42 AM. |

As for 2019 or 2020, it just depends on what body style you want. If you wait until the 2020 is on lots, the leftover 2019s will be super cheap. But if you want an SS, and the 2019 fascia is not acceptable to you, you'll have to wait for 2020. Last edited by protovack; 05-14-2019 at 11:42 PM. |
