The main reason to get a 2019+ is they supposedly fixed the defective oil pump issues

I just did the same. I sold my 1000+ HP 2016 Hellcat and bought a 2021 ZL1. I'll just let you know up front, it costs a LOT more to make a LT4 engine quicker than a Hellcat. That being said, I bought mine wanting a sports car instead of a drag strip car, I was ready for a change and the ZL1 feels very properly balanced in all areas. I'm still not going to leave it stock though, LOL, it feels slow compared to the Hellcat.

Other food for thought, 2017-2018 had an amazing blue color, Hyper Blue Metallic. I prefer the rear bumper of the 2017-2018 models compared to the 2019+, however the new tail lights in the 2019+ look amazing at night, but are just so-so during the day. 2019 added a rear view camera in the spoiler but moved to the shark fin antenna in 2020. Normally it would not be an issue unless you wanted to change the spoiler which I did on my 2021. Since mine is in the shark fin antenna, I didn't lose my camera so that's a downside to 2019. The rear view camera is amazing since visibility is not so great through the rear glass using a standard mirror. If I were buying one today knowing what I just told you, I would look for a 2018 if you prefer the earlier bumper or color availability or a 2020+ if you prefer the later style bumper. 2017 and 2019 would be my least preferred years.

Keep us posted as your search goes on. Not many options to choose from on these. They are pretty much loaded except for PDR and carbon fiber dash piece. |

Mlee I am looking.
Thanks for all the good Information all you guys provided. I ready for a Chevy. I love SRT don’t get me wrong but the wave kinda hit the beach for me. The Camaro ZL1 is all I need. I travel from New Orleans to Destin Florida often and it’s on the Freeway. Great driving for this ZL1. Corvette is just not for me. Great cars just not me. I don’t see many ZL1 driving around much, hardly at all to be honest. So really looking forward to this next chapter. I would like to find a low mile 17-18 due to price point. But if the opportunity comes for a deal on a 19 I will take it. |

When I bought my 2018 ZL1 a couple months ago, it only had 4800 miles on it! I agree, I like the bumper and tail lights on the 2017-18's. I actually wanted the 2018 when I was looking and found one with low miles, the color that I wanted and it came with the carbon fiber dash and sunroof! I was looking at them for a little over a year before I found the one that was right for me. They are out there, buy what you feel is right for you |

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this but, can you still reprogram the ecu after 2019 or do you have to replace it for mods?

2020+ The A10 trans gets the T93 TCM which is no longer unlockable for custom tuning. The ECU's can still be tuned.
