water inside your door

Do you guys get water inside your doors after it rains or you wash the car?

I've noticed this since day one. After a wash of rain when I open the doors or move the car, water drains out from a drain hole in the bottom of the doors.

I hope it's designed to be this way (which would boggle my mind).

My driveway has slight downward slope. If I park w nose pointing down, after wash or rain, I can hear the water inside the doors sloshing as you close the door.

As I driveway its like water pouring out - like a pick up truck bed.

I can see this being cause of door skin rotting from the inside out.

All cars are designed to accept and then drain water from the inside of the doors. It can't be avoided, if you want windows that go up and down.

This is what concerns me. The doors rotting from the inside out. Right now is not a major concern but if you are someone who would like to keep the car for a long time or forever, it may be an issue later on.

Im not debating the fact that water is going to get in there somehow but I’ll tell you this, I do not hear water slushing inside my doors in my Hellcat or in my Shelby. I sure as hell don’t notice as much water pouring out of the doors in my Hellcat and Shelby when I drive away after a rain or a wash.

Trust me, all doors do this. It is now they are designed to shed the water. Think rain gutter...

I had to go and look - i had seen rear weep hole, but the front one is wayyyy up front. Had not see it before. Will have to see if there is debris or other crap preventing proper drainage.

I know in past it would be days after good rain or car wash and I could hear water sloshing inside the door as I drove and came to stop at the intersection to our street.

Hope to resolve that SOON.

I didn’t know there was a drain up front as well.

Im gonna take a look tomorrow on the Shelby and the Hellcat for drains.

I believe you guys that the camaro is not the only car designed like this but I do know for sure that I’ve never heard water slushing around inside the doors in the Shelby or the Hellcat like I do in the Zl1.

Vtor, how are you addressing it? Getting rid of the car?

Plan to see if hole is clogged w soft wire.. ie like 12ga copper or similar. Used to park near a tree w really small leaves and I suspect a few may have slipped in there.

Not driving it much anymore (WFH).

I usually get under door w powerwasher, but i did not see that front drain - next time I will give it a good blast.

Oh, I see.

I’m gonna look at the front drains on mine tomorrow. Rained today in NJ so there should be water in there tomorrow.

For the past 8 days it seems like it's been raining in NJ, what a crappy last week and now this week.

Where are you in NJ Alain? I've seen a red ZL1 around wonder if that's you

Maybe it's just me, but it feels like we've had much more rain this last two or three years than before. Could be because I've had the 2SS since 2018 and am now acutely aware of weather trends
To steer back to the topic, I haven't seen excessive amounts of water accumulating in the door, and it definitely isn't sloshing around, ever. I park the car in the driveway with the rear below the front whenever I do the power washing, this seems to be the best tactic in terms of avoiding water accumulation anywhere. Hopefully it's just one of your weep holes clogged.
