? For Michelin pilot sport 4s tires users

I’m shopping for replacement tires for my Goodyears and want to know from those who switched to the 4s from Michelin. Did you stick with run flats like the stock Goodyears ? I didn’t realize the Michelins come in run flat and non run flat.

The stock 1le Goodyear SC3 tires are not runflats just FYI. But seems like everyone and their dogs are running the 4s on the street. Probably my next tire.

I have 4S on my ZLE. Don’t think they are run flats. REALLY like them. They have great traction considering the moderate winter temps where I live.....can’t imagine how they’ll feel in the summer!! That being said I had a 17 ZL1 previously with the OEM SC3 tires. Liked them a lot too. My choice to run the 4S was based on what looked to be a longer tread wear rating.....while still have a great reputation for a high performance street tire.

The GY SC3 is not a run-flat.

The PS4S is not a run-flat.

There is a PS4S ZP that is run-flat but not in SS 1LE Sizes.

For a contrarian point of view to the 4S, I'm running Conti ECS. A decent bit cheaper than the 4S. I haven't owned the 4S, but the track of the Contis are great and the cold weather traction is above my expectation.

Having said that, I have 285s on a 19 x 10 square setup, so not sure if you can get them in the OEM wheel sizes.

Good information thanks everyone, the car is my daily driver so I want a tire that does better in the rain. I thought they were run flats, learned something new today.

I'm not a track guy so this is from a street only use perspective.
I replaced the factory Goodyears with stock size Michelin 4s within two weeks of picking up my new 2019 ZL1 from the dealer. I was concerned with driving at highway speeds in the rain. I am very satisfied with the tires and would recommend them.
I heard the Conti Extreme Contact Sports are good tires as well. All the test reports say they are very close in performance to the Michelins. The Contis are a bit less expensive.
What finally convinced me was a guy on Youtube that did a review on the Michelins focusing on the wet weather performance. He had a red Mustang Shelby GT350. His Youtube username is "Auto Fanatic". I'll try to post the link below.

I have not run the Michelin 4s personally, but when my friend had his ZL1 he swapped out the Goodyears after 800 miles and swore by the Michelins. Said they rode MUCH better and were way better in the rain. I only drove his car around town but I could notice the driving difference compared to the Goodyears. Not enough for me to swap out on my 1LE, but I do not daily mine. Just some perspective......

I used to run Pilot Super Sports on my Fiesta ST - should be close enough to the PS4S to make a bit of an educated opinion.

I HATED how soft the sidewalls were. It took all the beautiful darty steering out of my Fiesta. The tire is spectacular as a daily driver - long wearing, great in cold & rainy weather (even at the same time, which is pretty unique), and grippy enough to throw it around on the street.

If I tracked my 1LE less & daily'd it more, I probably would rock them. At this point, I can't justify destroying a $1700 set of tires on track, though.

Edit: They also were very comfortable and fairly quiet. Not as quiet as I expected, TBH, but definitely way quieter than the Goodyear SC3s that come with the 1LE.

I have MP4S on my CTS and Z4, but I prefer more performance on my 1LE. The MP4S are a great luxury/sport tire, though!

One thing to keep in mind regarding the PS4S. They come with a 30k mile warranty.

If you track them and burn them up, you can make a warranty claim on them.

I have not done this, but have a few friends that have.

...and that's why we can't have nice things. At least in the long run.
