To me, this sounds as much like a high strung turbo V6, as it might be a turbo V8, or flat plane V8.

I've never liked the sound of high rpm engines. An engine that 'buzzes' just doesn't convey power to my brain.

Man I don't know. Sure as hell didnt sound like a flat plane to me and IIRC I though boost and FPC don't mix well so I have no idea lol

I agree with KMP, when I first heard teh clip, it reminded me of the Ford GT race car

After listening to it and the GT, I don’t think it’s a V6. It sounds like a small displacement V8, possibly twin turbo and flat plane crank.

Either way, it doesn’t sound anywhere as good as the current 5.5 V8.

I hope to God that they don't follow the Ford GT idea

As far as I'm concerned, a race car can have whatever engine allowed by the rules that the team thinks will win. No matter what it isn't going to be the same engine thats in the production car, so there isn't much point in getting bothered by the choice.

I think for GTLM/GTE the engine has to be based on one used by the road car, but with a limit on displacement. Has there been a rumor, or confirmation, of a TTV6 in the C8?

There hasn't been confirmation that the C8 exists, let alone any details about it.

What I mean by that is GM hasn't said a single thing about the car we're looking at. Is it going to be the C8, or a ZAD1, or something else? No idea. The assumption is that its the C8. But until GM tells us what it is, I don't consider it confirmed. So we are a long ways off from having any confirmation on the details of the engine(s).
