Stock exhaust Ideas?

I'm wanting the car just a tad bit louder. I pulled the number fuse out (for the valves). Just wanting it a little bit louder but.......don't wanna buy a whole new system. Any ideas?

Have you looked into just getting an axle back exhaust. They are easy to install and they can give the rear of the car a better look, as well as a better sound. Borla has an S-type axle back that will give you a deeper, throatier sound without being to loud. Good Luck!

I am interested in this as well. I personally like the stock exhaust sound just wish it were a tad louder in sport/track. Does the axle back by borla your talking about retain use of the changeable stock exhaust modes ? Like can you still choose tour, sport, track with this axle back.
Also will it drone?
Thanks

Yes, you can order it either way. This should be a very easy routine job for an exhaust shop to do, it also can be done in your garage or driveway. When I did my SS, I just used a reciprocating saw to remove the oem exhaust. The Borla was an easy install. Just make sure your car is level on jack stands to get the cuts even. I had no drone with my Borla.

I have seen the cut-away pics of the stock suitcase exhaust and wonder if there is any sound deadening material inside or it's completely open like shown.

If it's completely open I was thinking about several options, one being to shorten the outside case back to the inside bulkhead, as well as cover several rows/columns of the NPP pipe.

See super crude paint drawings!!

AWE exhaust is also an option. Ordered my track edition, non-resonated version about 10 days. Once its installed, was planning on making a before/after audio video for the forum.

There's really only a few options...

A Borla 60606 X Pipe will bolt to the primary cats, deleting the secondary cats, and will attach via cutting and clamping to the factory axle back right around the rear axle where the vertical red line is shown below. Corsa makes an X Pipe that accomplishes the same.

You could also do a standalone axle back, which will require cutting and removal of factory suitcase (Again, right around the red vertical line at the back of the car). This will gain you significant volume and sound characteristics will change.

Then there's a complete cat-back, which will combine an X pipe and an axle back so you have a new exhaust system from the primary cats all the way out to the tips.

So if I were to do a borla axle back would I still be able to change exhaust sound from stealth, tour, sport and track?
Also will it be louder then the stock suitcase mufflers or just simply change the tone?
Also no drone for sure with the borla axle back?
Thanks ......

Yes, as long as you order the NPP option. This option allows for the valves, like your factory system. It will be louder than stock, and the tone does change too, but quiets down quickly, especially in stealth mode. I had the Borla Atak axle back, which is their loudest exhaust and never experienced drone. It sounded great and looked awesome too, I had the carbon tips.

Really sweet! Tips are money! What do you mean "had" ? So you recommend the Atak over the S type? Would the S type not be much louder then stock so probably best to go with the super aggressive atak?
Thanks for your reply.
