Camaro Newbie

Hey guys!
I am new around here and this is my first post!
Recently I saved enough money to purchase a new 2018 A8 2SS and currently I have a little over 1700 miles on the car! So far, I am in love with the car and couldn't be happier.
As this is my first Camaro, I am not sure what is and isn't normal with the car. Prior to this I drove a Toyota Camry so I really made a massive switch in vehicles. I am hoping that you guys who have experience with the car could help me out.
First, when I am idle, the car has what I'd call a periodic rumble; every 5-6 seconds the car will lightly vibrate when I am idle. I am assuming it's the aggressive nature of the engine/exhaust but I really have no idea.
Also, recently I noticed that when I make a left turn, I hear a ticking noise coming from what sounds to be the right wheel. I can only hear the noise when the window is down. It does not happen when I make a right turn however. I have no idea what it could be or if it's something I should be worried about.
Lastly, for those that have tint on their back window, I plan on getting 5% or 10% tint on the back window and was wondering how well you could see out of it at night with the auto dimming rear view mirror.

I look forward to hearing from you guys and am happy to be apart of this community!

Congrats!
1.) The periodic rumble (if very faint) is normal. V8 AMERICA!

2.) Ticking noise from the wheel when turning is likely a dirty mating surface between the wheel and the hub, several members have had this issue. You can have the dealership clean the mating surface between the two.

3.) Can't comment on the tint.

4.) Welcome to the forum! Now let's see some pictures!

I've experienced both 1 and 2, so I'm guessing it's normal.

If you're not sure on the tint, you'd probably be happy with 15%. A lot of people complain about visibility, so the tint seems even darker than most other cars.

I have 5% on the back 3, 15% fronts, and 70% windshield.

It's perfect for me, but I do have the rear camera mirror that is a big help. Nighttime is definitely sketchy, especially in parking lots. It took my daughter awhile to get used to it. She felt clausterphobic inside. Haha

+1 this.

How to fix (easy):
  • Remove the wheel.
  • Clean the hub and wheel mating surfaces (remove the oxidation) with a wire brush.
  • Wipe clean.
  • Apply a VERY THIN layer of white lithium grease to the mating surfaces.
  • Remount wheel, torque lugs to 140 ft-lbs (factory spec).

to the forum and don't forget to post pics!

Thanks for clearing things up! Should I get it cleaned as soon as possible or is it fine if I wait a little since I don’t have time to go to the dealer?

and congrats on your massive upgrade

Posting pictures is super easy, just use the Manage Attachments button in the editor (not the "quick reply" box, the real editor that is displayed when you hit "Reply" or "Go Advanced"). You can upload several local files as attachments and they are preserved in the forum database itself, no need for web-based image hosting.
