I think you have to plan on spending the money for Clear Bra or a PPF of some sort on the high impact areas. I do my pickups, and my Camaro with it. We had an Impala SS that my wife drove, after 70K miles the hood looked like she was following a loaded gravel truck for 10K miles. It was horrible. We put Clear Bra on her Buick and after 60K looked like new. We did the front facia and a quarter the way up the hood. It was less than $500. My Camaro is the same way. There are some areas that I didn't have film that I should have, but where it is, no issues.

The paint is no worse on a Camaro than anything else, but it is certainly no better. Ford is having issues with the paint on their SD trucks I know. Putting PPF on your Camaro is like having to install a spray in bedliner in your pickup. It is BS that it is necessary, but if you don't do it, you will have a mess. You just have to accept that it is part of buying the car. As to the swirls, I am going to ceramic coat my ZLE when it gets in, I used Ammo Reflex on my '15 since new and it makes a huge difference. The stuff is worth the money. The days of having a thick and hard clear coat are long over. You have to be much more careful in how you wash the car and use products that improve the factory clear coat if you want to maintain a quality paint job.

...as others have said... it's universal and only PPF will reduce the problem...

2012 genesis sedan daily driver with rock hard paint at 76k miles and the front end is a mess.

Wife's 2007 Solara DD @ 170k miles had the front bumper cover replaced 20k miles ago and it's already swiss cheese.

2017 ZL1 with PPF weekender/show car: Perfect!

Just did my car in 3M pro PPF. After spending $68K to buy the car, I feel the cost of this investment in ppf was worth it. I plan on keeping this car for a long time. It's your money, do what you want with it.

With this car I did consent to the dealer using some 3M(?) PPF in spots and then the paint sealer that is overpriced and probably not that great in the long term. So far the sealer whatever it is looks great, car looks great. The PPF in front of the rear wheels I've been less impressed with that, it's taken some hits and shows it, doesn't seem all that durable to whatever my expectation was. Plus there's not enough coverage.

If Chevy would add an extra stage of pant and clear that alone would do wonders....so sad over the chips I’ve gotten....

The 3m product comes in 3 different price ranges, I got the best, 3m pro. I would expect that most dealers would go with the cheapest.

I won't chime in about the paint quality, but at least around here, the road maintenance has gone to shit. sand, rocks, you name it, all down the highway. Big trucks carrying said material doesn't have to sweep their trucks off or anything, so it lies where it lies.

every vehicle I've had has chipped at one point (this includes buying a used 3000gt vr-4, putting chips on the front end, repainting, and re-putting more chips on it.) but the last several years (I'd say 10+) it seems to have gotten worse. I'm sure you could attribute it to cheaper/thinner/bad paint, but I don't see even the best of paintjobs being able to withstand what my local roads can throw at it.

Rock chips are inevitable.

I have put almost 5k miles on my Camaro and I haven't noticed any rock chips yet. But in the Camaro I try to avoid highways and bad roads whenever I can. That is probably why.

I daily drive a 2001 Lexus LS430. It has gotten a fair amount of rock chips, and I could imagine the paint on that car would be rather thick and high quality compared to the Camaro.

Ford does such a better job painting their vehicles. The level of orange peel in my factory paint is embarrassing.

For having a car two years and barely driving it these just seems unrealistic. I don't live on gravel roads or near them so it's not like a have rock constantly flying at my car. Anyone else running into this issue?
you are on the highway too much , driving too fast and or tailgating. All and any cars hood and front bumper cover's paint will chip under those circumstances. Drive into the setting sun and take a good look at your headlight lenses, you will see major chipping on both the windshield and the headlights.
