Spending money for data that can only be used in a vehicle you only are in for a couple hours a day is stupid.
Spend the extra money if needed on your primary cell phone and just use Android auto like god intended. Enjoy the unlimited data wherever you are whenever you want. Then again, I removed the cell radio completely because I think it is stupid to hand over control of your expensive property to a faceless Corp, which is what you do with OnStar functional. So, meh. Do what you want,. But it is an objectively inefficient use of money to subscribe to anything tied to your car |

I actually thought the $20 for unlimited wasn't bad, a single phone line with unlimited is atleast $50/m, bout $90/m for AT&T, I found it convenient to connect my laptop and friends phones to but not something I always pay for.
I also actually thin 2gb for $15 makes more sense than 1gb for $10 cuz 1gb isn't much Quote:

Not for like just $10, you have to have a phone first, then you would have to have hotspot as well, sometimes it's nice, let's say your kid uses all the cars data you would still have your phone data. |

lol
I have 1 gig per month and always have plenty left over....and I'm a 35yr old IT specialist. I'm always on wifi where-ever I can go, and when I'm out and about, I'm not really using my phone much for data-using activities. It's that simple.

Exactly what was "lol" to you? My question was simple,"Who doesn't have unlimited data these days"? The vast majority do,even elderly folks like myself.

The most basic AT&T iphone plan you could get has unlimited. Unless you haven't gone and updated your plan in a while I don't know who would still have data usage problems.

And I go to work in the middle of the night so it may come in handy one day. Also I had to call the cops using onstar at work when I got there once and they come faster then using my cellphone.

On the topic of wifi in the car, I have unlimited data with 50GB hotspot usage for $45/mo so I wouldn't pay 50% of that to Chevy just to have 2GB worth of wifi in the car for the 10 minutes a day I drive it. Switching carriers is a great way to get unlimited for very cheap. If I were the OP I'd shop around on your cell plan, honestly. |

Data Plan 50% Price Hike? NOPE!
I used to subscribe to the $10 plan. Like you, I wanted to keep the data usage on my phone low. But I found the AT&T speeds to be terrible in my area. It was quicker for me to disable the WiFi and use cellular data. I ended up canceling the plan. I certainly won’t go back to it after the price hike.
It does help that we switched carriers in December and have unlimited data so the WiFi would be practically useless now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
