NPP Exhaust Upgrade
Has anyone upgraded their stock exhaust to NPP? I found a pretty good deal on a Camaro 2SS, but the only thing misssing is the NPP exhaust. It has the single exhaust with plastic fascia. Is it cost prohibitive compared to going aftermarket? I have a very tight budget and will basically have no money left after buying the car, but LOVE the look of dual tips and the noise of the NPP system.

The NPP system has actuators controlled through the computer/mylink system. That would be very expensive if you're wanting full functionality. If you're just wanting the look and sound, go aftermarket.

What (I did and) you can do on a budget is:
1. Find a take-off NPP muffler with 4 tips. Those things are often offered here for a low price or even free i you pick it up 2. Find lower valance for quad tips. Mine was $220 take-off 3. Swap valance, get to muffler shop to swap the mufflers. The result will be identical to what a NPP equipped car would be in the constant track mode. Keep in mind that a lot of guys here ended up pulling a fuse to keep their NPP in that mode, and as exhausts go, this is still considered tame. |

But shipping might be a bitch... Better yet, buy a quad valance and a quad tip axle back Borla. Likely cheaper than the NPP option |

I have one. Problem will be valve actuators. Keeping those.

You could make the stock NPP system work with a little ingenuity but at the end of the day most people look to ditch that system. The big suit case is an eye sore under the car and you can find a better sounding after market system. We have options to suit just about any budget if you decide to got another route. We also get NPP take offs from time to time.

Some quality aftermarket mufflers + dual-exit tips would be an affordable way to go and have the same look with a little more sound. Definitely lighter, too. You could probably get everything done for ~ $300 not counting the valance.
