I was driving very, very gingerly and had cruise control on most of the time.
I average 20 MPG highway and about 17 MPG city here in NYC. |

I swear this site cares more about MPG than 0-60 or 1/4 times given the bi-weekly MPG threads, whatever floats your boat I suppose...

My real race car a 1969 Camaro with a 632ci. on pump gas used 1 gallon per 1/4 mile & my Chevy 2500HD diesel truck got 15mpg on the highway. That's why I sold both of them.

Here's mine. Am I doing this right?
Frankly, I'm disappointed. My goal is 12. After putting a cam/heads into my G8, my average was 9.8. Yay!! (BTW, I'm not joking. My MPG is directly, but inversely, proportional to my fun with the Camaro. As my fun goes up, my MPG goes down.) |

My best (using the "last 50 miles" thing) is 32.2. AMAZING.

On part of a highway run between TN and MA in M6 2SS. Got a touch higher before dropping to 28’s after hitting the insanity of the CT border

Best I have gotten is 29 MPG in my SS and it happened on I-20 between Atlanta and DFW just recently. Before that it was 28 MPG on I-10 between Houston and San Antonio.
This was doing mostly 75 and 80. I may be able to crack up to 31 if I was patient enough... ....but I didnt buy this car for gas mileage In my 1LT 3.6 V6 though I've made some freakish numbers. My first best was 41 MPG: I later topped that with 47 MPG on a road trip between Atlanta and San Francisco and freakishly did so at speeds ranging between 70 and 80 MPH. With the A8 cars, the trick is using manual mode and keeping it in 8th Gear as the car downshifts unnecessarily...alot. Combine that with predictive throttling and keeping it in range of 4 Cylinders as much as possible and you can make some amazing fuel mileage with these cars. |

28mpg with mods below 312miles cruise set at 75mph. why do people talk about mileage on this forum. Because this car gets such great mileage. Thats why i bought this car instead of a classic that gets 10mpg. I like to drive. ill do 300 miles a day in it.
