Diablo i3 tuner on stock car basically
Anyone using the diablo i3 tuner with just an intake? I got a 17 SS m6 with just an AEM intake, curious if anyone has it and felt like the diablo tuner was worth it for them. I know for the auto it helps a lot with shifts. But i don't gotta worry about that since my Camaro is manual. Eventually, I will get an hp tuner when I add a supercharger. But for now, I was thinking to just run diablos 93 canned tune for the time being. And ill sell it later on when I get a blower

i'm coming from experience, buy for the build your preparing. don't redo things. i've taken my engine apart a few times now and cometic head gaskets are cheap... wait and save and buy what you'll eventually be buying. no rush, only difference you'd probably see is throttle response.

Thanks for the input! I am just waiting until I feel like I can run the car to its fullest stock before I bolt on another 150hp lol. And also diablo says their tune is undetectable. And as far as I know, they are the only ones that aren't detectable. But in a year or two my warranty will probably be voided from mods anyway lol

I am not sure how they do it, I am wondering the same thing. I agree about the flash counter. I did a lot of searching on google, and Diablo sport is on tons of forums saying its completely undetectable. I don't think a company like Diablo would straight up lie like that. But you never know

Have one on mine its a auto though, I like it but a tune from a shop is the way to go for the best power.

Re-flashed the factory tune back in when I swapped out the torque convertor. The service writer said the print out they sent to GM read a factory tune and the TQ would be covered. Worked for me...just saying.

how much hp they claim? Diablo is more popular in Mopar and HP tuner is more popular in GM. Btw you prob wont see much gain from just single intake or even cat back exhaust with canned tune. I will save money for headers at least and get it custom tune at that time.
Every car runs differently, fuel, weather and condition of car... that all comes to play in tuning. If you want best performance then custom tuning is only way to go.

I was considering doing headers but trying to keep it not so loud and legal for inspections. Can the hp tuner force readiness on the o2 sensors? Visual inspection doesn't matter, but all the sensors need to be ready for my mechanic to do the inspection. I am most likely leaning towards an lt4 supercharger or Magnuson and just keep everything else completely stock. On previous tuned cars I just forced readiness to the front o2s and my mechanic could just plug me in and i passed no problem

Diablosport uses proprietary flashing software. It basically takes a picture of your stock calibration and flash counter and stores it on their tuner. When you revert back to stock, it simply puts that picture back. That way the flash counter appears as if it never changed. My car has been at the dealer multiple times for various issues. Never have they even questioned anything. |

Nice! Did you try out the canned tune at all? What mods do you have on your car?

I have the older I2 tuner that I originally bought for my 2012 Jeep Hemi and downloaded a custom tune. A couple of years ago Diablo enabled that same "mopar" tuner capable of tuning GM. You just had to buy an additional license, which I did.
I can tell you that a custom tune is light years ahead of their canned tune. Hemifever in my Jeep and Diab-Lew in my Camaro. And yes I have "flashed back to stock more than once when I brought the car to the dealer without issues. I wish I could tune the TCM but I've already had one TQ replaced under warrantee and there is no re-flashing the TCM that I know of. As soon as the warrantee is up the transmission is getting a tune as well. The good thing about the 2012 Jeep is through the ECM you can tune the transmission parameters as well. So I got a two for one deal with the Jeep. |
