Camaraderie
Camaro people in my neck of the woods seem to enjoy friendly waves with each other, especially the vert owners. Is this peculiar to where I live or is it prevalent everywhere? Its nice to recognize others and be recognized as well for having such a wonderful car.

It is normal, from camaros of all sizes. I actually learned about the waving to others from this camaro6 forum.

There's a great guy at our local AutoX (we had one today) that has a C5 1LE. Yep, we both know that our cars are something special, even though they are both camaro-shaped-objects.

Without knowing of this "custom," I've had the inkling to wave to other Camaro drivers.
Problem is they are usually going the opposite direction and the closure rate is high enough that I don't have time to open the window to wave (I drive a coupe, and I don't think anyone would see me waiving from inside the car given how small the side windows are!). |

It’s only in NY. I don’t believe it’s ever occurred any other place on earth.

I went to a Cars & Coffee this morning in Escondido, CA, as I was leaving (after 3 hours with another Camaro6 member) I saw another red 6th Gen as I was about to get on the 15 North... He pulled into a gas station (as we were both looking at each other) but I was in a lane with no U Turn (and there was a lot of cars in the way so I couldn't even do an illegal U-Turn (cuz I would have!))... We don't see a lot of 6th Gens in SoCal, most of the yuppies out here have BMW's, Mercedes or Tesla's, but we have a few still holding the ground... I recently ran into a 2021 White 2SS that damn near looks like a 1LE (but isn't) that lives one neighborhood away from me, need to get him to some of the car meets...

No not where I live. I have had someone wave a few years ago when I was driving my 2010 2SS but not lately driving the ZL1. Most of the hotrods you see here are of the Mopar brand and of course Mustangs.

Well, NY here, and yes, lots of waves between Camaros, occasionally run challenge (which I pass on!) lol
I did see the same in NJ and PA on a couple of road trips, so not NY exclusive, northeast thing maybe? |

I always wave or flash at other Camaro owner of any year. They usually wave back (like 99% of the time).
I even have a neighbor with a C7 that waves at me everytime I pass by. People with Mustang usually flip them finger... Not the same kind of people!

I'm a new Camaro owner, I love the car, no matter what year (exception being 4th gen, lol) I wave at everyone in a Camaro.
If you ain't doing it, what's stopping you? |

Thread title would look even better spelled as Camaroderie
I tend to either wave, too, or flash the high beams if the other Camaro is oncoming and several lanes plus a median apart. Small sample size so far, I know, but surprisingly to me I've seen more female than male drivers in Camaros here.
