Wireless charging pad OEM--small AF

I bought the parts to add the OEM wireless charging v2 pad to my LT1. Got it in today and this thing is waaaaay too small to support my phone (Samsung S20+). What a crock of fecal matter. Why would GM make this thing too small to support premier modern phones. Around $150 for the part and the harness from HarnessDr. I hope I can return it or sell it.

It's not just that, but it doesn't really charge the phone at all, just kinda maintains the battery level. Also, I will frequently forget my phone in the car because it's so far back. Cable and the cupholder works fine, I guess.

I trimmed the short edges of the rubber pad to make it work with larger phones. (The photo isn't color accurate, the cut line isn't really white or even light gray, just a trick of the light.)

Also, with the upgraded wireless module my car is able to charge the phone even while using wireless Android Auto, slowly, but it definitely is able to achieve a net positive.

To me the charger seems like an after though, can just see a room full of execs trying to decide what other options they could add to prove the car was worth it's price, they all decided on a wireless charger then made it the designers problem to find a place for it

Backseat phone charging in a car where no one old enough to have a phone can sit comfortably for over 2 minutes, good job Chevy!

2021, but I have the excellent AAWireless kit that works well with our 2018 Camaros, see my review here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...2#post11010822

Yes, the wireless AA in my car works very well. And I don't actually need to charge my phone mid-day very often, so I doubt I'll miss the charging pad really. Just wanted to add it for "those times". But not if my freaking phone don't fit! BTW...the S20+ overhangs the hard plastic part of the enclosure, not just the rubber holders in the pad.

That sucks, big boy phones clearly don't fit, although the S20 may as it's a full 10mm shorter. I'm not defending this shortsighted design, just wanted to try and help if possible, but yeah, this won't work without some gross hacking.

My Galaxy Z Flip 3 fits just fine and I also have the AA Wireless on my 2020. Took forever to get here with the chip shortage and all though.
