Has GM put any limit on production run of 50th Anniversary Edition?

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about GM putting a production run limit on how many 50th Anniversary Editions (no matter what the engine type) will be produced?

I'd like to get mine now, but could easily wait till March/April when incentives start flowing for 2017's. I'm in no rush other than just wanting one in my driveway!

I'm trying to work some deals now, but don't want to lose out on the chance of being able to order one in Jan/Feb and arrive for Mar/Apr incentives.

I don't believe there will be a limit, it's open ended for those willing to pay the additional.

If you purchase any 2017 model Camaro it will have fifty on the steering wheel, so you gain a part of the 50th celebration without paying additional for the whole package

My guess is just the opposite say 5% of total model year production. A guess by me and nothing more.

Not to nock anyone out of getting one, but I hope there is a limit. So the car will be more rare.

If you look at posted constraints, for 50th and extrapolate for the year you can get total. I calculate less than 4500 total. This includes coupe and verts.

Speaking of paying additional, I noticed after ordering my car that the 50th anniversary package is a great deal on the 2LTs. It includes the RS package (approx $1950) and adds brembo brakes (which would be approx $485 with the heavy duty cooling and brake package). That adds up to about $2435 and the H50 package costs $2595. Granted, you don't get any of the heavy duty cooling features, so you aren't getting the full $485 value, but the brembo brakes are a plus. On top of that, you get the same benefits that the 2SS trim does but for a margin of the cost. The only downside is that you must take the convenience and lighting package on the 2LT to order the H50 package.

TL;DR version: if you are buying the 2LT and you are planning to get both RS and convenience and lighting packages, I would highly recommend considering the H50 package as you do get a lot for the price.

I thought it was a good deal even on ss. If you added opt wheels, interior ,splitter, stripes, and paid to have calipers painted it would cost more than 50th. Easy decision for me.

along those lines this "my color X camaro/vette/mustang with X interior is only 1 of 416 made in 2014" is just hilarious.

Agreed. It won't be worth anymore than any other SS. Miles and condition will take precedent over the cosmetics of the 50th edition package. For example, some don't prefer the grey color, so it wouldn't matter if it were a 50th. Some don't prefer the wheels and would rather have black or a 5 spoke pattern.

The same thing holds true on the 1LE package. I owned a Gen5 1LE and it was basically worth the same as any other regular 2SS with similar miles and condition when it was appraised on the wholesale market.

Just buy it because you like it, not for resale.

No one implied that the 50th is going to hold its value any better. I agree wholeheartedly, no one is going to spend any more for the same car with a different paintjob. You should get what you like. All I am saying is that if you liked the H50 and you decided against it because of the price tag, then it may be worth reconsidering as it could cost nearly the same as the 2LT you wanted to order.

The answer about the value of the 45th will not be conclusively answered for another forty or fifty years. Until then, guessing an answer will have to do.
