Good for them. I see nothing wrong with using the Camaros to help catch speeders, street racers and of course distracted drivers. In my city people drive like maniacs and some need to have their drivers licenses revoked because of their dangerous driving habits.

Was at a car show yesterday. Watch two guys in a 70' Pontiac polish off two 12 packs during the day, then leave the show still drinking behind the wheel. Insane

We started using ghost graphics on traffic enforcement Interceptor Utilities, and they do deter jackass driving based on supposed metrics. As bad as people seem to be driving these days, they have to do something, may as well use Camaros!

And of course the jackasses come out with the comments (in the article and Twitter posting) of entrapment or whatever else to say that those cars are illegal. Because they are the ones going 10 over or cutting people off.

There needs to be more of these vehicles on the road. 55 mph zone turns into a 65+ mph zone with dumbasses cutting people off without a blinker.

Washington state has vehicles like this but go after road rage or distracted drivers.

With Houstons budget deficit, I don’t agree with this type of spending. Now if some individuals want to donate additional $’s out of their own pocket to fund the additional costs I could agree. I’m always hoping my local government works to find ways to lower property taxes, yet never see any attempt to do so. Not trying to sound negative just wishing people would put more of their own $’s towards supporting what they want.

The California Highway Patrol's white, low profile '02 Camaros were probably the best looking vehicles ever fielded by CHP!

Anyone here ever get stopped by one?

This is about revenue generation. I work in Harris County (a democRAT run shit hole like Houston) and they dont give a damn about public safety. They have a 30 year old socialist/communist county judge from colombia that is letting crime run rampant with pro criminal bail reform orders. Refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement to remove illegal aliens. Pro criminal democRAT judges releasing felons on PR bonds so they get right back on the street to kill or rob again. This is revenue generation. Below is from the HPD union.

This is cool, but to be honest. The best crime prevention is visibility. Marked cars are good for prevention. Unmarked is good for tickets.

Soooooo true!!!!

There’s a city about 20min from me that use to park an unmanned Marked unit on the side of the highway and everyone was slowing down in that area. It would be there for days. Lol!!!

Prevented a lot of speeding in that area.
