The 2010-2011 have two buttons on the back of the wheel, there are also two small "flags" that are marked (+0)and (-)to indicate which one it is. They only work when in "M". The 2012 and up have more of an actual paddle, they will work in "D" or "M" but the function is slightly different. obviously there are aftermarket kits that some may have which may be confusing some as to what's stock and what's not.

The first 3 pics are the 2010-2011 wheel, the second two are the 2012-up.

If anyone has buttons on the shifter they are most likely made by me as I'm not aware of any others.

So I'm assuming that in 2012 and later when they changed the steering wheel, they used real paddles instead of our stupid buttons. Can someone with a 2012-2015 confirm this for me?
my 2012 paddles work fine

When I said buttons I means the ones on the back of the wheel. Not on the shifter. Just to clarify

I was referring to the post above but now realize he was referring to the buttons on the wheel below what I called the little flags that indicate (+)
(-)

2013 steering wheel

I have a 2013 RS. I love the car but I hate the steering wheel. I love the wheel in the 2011, round hub with 'camaro' spelled out instead of that stupid bow tie. Does anyone know if I can replace it with a 2011 wheel?

Yes. I meant the buttons on the back of the wheel that I use to shift. The "flags" are purely cosmetic... Oh well.

I have only had my car for about a year and about 3,000 miles. So, still pretty new to me. It was GM Certified, so I am guessing everything on it was stock. Still finding and JUST asking about some little quirks. HAHA

I believe they are to identify which button you are hitting when the wheel is turned, pretty much useless though.

Because those are not paddles.

They are plastic tabs that tell you which side is + and which is -

Lame, I agree.

Get the Vitesse camaro paddles, you just pop off the button and they clip on in replace of them. Mine have been in place for over 4 years no issue.
